That is interesting alright. I had no idea that was done. Last week I attended a friend's burial in our local veterans cemetary. He was a decorated veteran who was wounded in Korea. That was also a very moving experience. I imagine the ceremony on the Arizona is much more so. Those brave men and women deserve it and more.

When I worked at Pearl I met "Jim" who is the coordinator for the burials at the Arizona. He still works at a facility on Ford Island and gets numerous requests from families to have their loved ones last requests honored. There is also another site where the Oklahoma is still sunken that also has it's shipmates returned.

I have a cousin RM3 Ralph L Burden that is still on board the USS Arizona. I try to visit every few years.
