Has anyone ever tried a 311252 in a 32-20 revolver?
I have a 311252 that drops @ .314 to .315 and wondered if it can be used in 32-20
If so, what was your load?
How well did it do?
THANKS IN ADVANCE

It will work just fine.
I shot a bunch of similar RCBS 32-77 over 4.2 grains of Unique for a fun plinker, but you could safely go up higher.
Lyman lists a starting load of 4.7 grains Unique with a 90 grain boolit at only 11,600 C.U.P. These days, I use 5 grains of Unique with either the RCBS 32-98 or a 95 grain SAECO RN.

UPDATE
Finally got to load some ammo:
32-20
--WRA brass (WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS)
--WSP primer
--19 gr. 2F Shuetzen Black Powder (drop tube)
--Lyman 311252 bullet Casts @.315 sized to.312 only mold and sizer I had on hand that might work
--SPG lube
Tried it out @ the range: (S&W 1905 32 hand ejector)
WHAT A HOOT- Sooooo much fun!
Very little recoil and shot rather well!
Need to get a bigger expander and size die to try bigger bullets

Pan lube 'em and shoot 'em as cast if they're not too tight to chamber.

Need to get a bigger expander before I can do that
Soft bullets get swaged down
Picked up a RCBS Cowboy expander for 32-20, but it was only for .312 bullet size
Was hoping for one for a .314 sized bullet- maybe 32 S&W Cowboy expander?
Picked up a .314 size die- plunger in die just fits chamber throats.
Also, need to get some 3F powder-was all out!:violin:

Those necks are pretty soft, so I wouldn't expect 'em to swage your boolits down.

They work just fine but I prefer a heavier bullet like the 31108 better but if that's all you have........./beagle
