I am going to have an opportunity to look through a stash of bullet molds a good friend acquired from his grandfathers gunshop/gunsmithing practice. Dont know what he has but I will be looking for, 357MAG 45COLT 30-30. What are the GEMS I need to look for?

ANY mold made by Hensley and Gibbs, even if you don't have a gun for it yet.

For .357, Lyman 358477, 358429 are good designs. For 45 Colt, look for 454424 or 452424,
or 452190, 452423 is for .45 Auto Rim but works pretty well in .45 Colt, too. For .30-30, one
of the best is 311041 but old molds will be 31141, same design, FN 170 gr.

H&G recommendation is a good one, if you are looking through a cache of old molds.

Look for Lyman Louverin molds, 311-465, 311-466,311-467, 311-407. Also the 311-291, 311-440, 311-441 are other goodies.

If you can find a Lyman Loverin design 311403 in good shape, I will buy it from you.

Or just make an offer for the whole lot! You can then justify buying more guns!

I have sold off my gun collection over the years, with no children to leave them too I have funded my retirement plan. Narrowed it down to just the essentials with a couple DOOMSDAY specials:smile:

He may want to sell off this collection, I will suggest I bring them here.

anything ending in "303" as in a pointy mould for pistol boolits. I'd also look for any HP's that are original.
