Followed me home from the used gun rack at the local Gander Mt store, Finish on metal is well worn wood is pretty good." E " preface on serial # I believe makes it a 1948 year of manufacture. Bore is 4 groove ballard rifleing ,and looks pristine.

What bullet to try first? Molds on hand are 160 lee, 180 lee and a Ranch Dog TLC311-165 RC.

Any one have one of these they could share some experiences with.

Thanks

Don M

Senior moment it's a 30/30.

Just pick a load.....That gun should shoot any normal j-word velocity round very well with powders such as Win748 if your casting/handloading skills are up to par. I have played with 1 in 30-30 and several in 35 rem.....the premicro 336's are easier than falling of a dock normally.

i just posted about my ol 30-30..

I bought the 165 ranchdog copy boolit, from noe,,,and am very happy with that bird.Seated in the crimp groove, the boolit just kisses the rifling. Very nice fitting boolit!
