It's been a while since I've seen tables full of number one mark three rifles at the gun shows . Have the boatloads been emptied and supplies dried up ? Other than auction sources is it likely to find any quantity in any one place ?

Thanks , Jack

The boatloads have dried up. I don't think we'll see any country act like France and hold on to obsolete rifles until a few decades after they became totally obsolete, but it is possible (look at the Nepalese cache, though an aberration).

That said, here's a site where there's more than one or two, and not an auction site. I haven't done business with these folks, so can't rate the site or sellers. Obviously Gun Broker will have a number of them too, and I can say Gun Broker provided excellent service in my one problem experience.

Hope that helps,

Good question, now that I found this old Rice peep sight, I'm going to have to find a rifle to go with it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330707016191?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Least I think that's what the sight is for. On the other hand, I just spied another place that has the proper angle for this thing, between the butstock and receiver on a model 14 Remington. That'd be cool as I just had one delivered to me.

From what I've seen most of them are more than three hundred bucks each . Unless it's been "sporterized"

There is a fellow over at the WTS/WTT forum at Gunboards.com with a nice looker and metal matched No1 MkIII for $425.
