ffg or fffg

Guys.. Due to local fire regulatons, you cannot buy black powder locally. I have some FFG and FFFG (GOEX) that I got from a guy who uses the stuff..now the questions in reference to my Ruger #3 45-70 question.

Which would be best? Would either one be a no-no?

I use FF in my 45-70, it gives better accuracy than FFF. As far as safety, it's not going to make any difference to a #3 which one you use, it's no stress anyway.

FFg is the better choice for cartridge applications.

As the fellows have indicated, between the two, FFG is the better choice.
When your supply of FFG is exhausted and you only have FFFG left, reduce the charge by 10% and it should work almost as well. :-D
