I am considering converting my 2 cavity RCBS 44-250K mold to a HP mold. Is this a good canditate for a hollow point mold. This RCBS mold has been replaced with a MiHec 432-256/HG #503 mold.

YES,

This pic is a Cramer conversion by Eric at HP services on a Lyman 429421 dbl cav, but your
RCBS is very similar in all ways and will give very similar results. Ask for a HP pin to
Glen Fryxell's specs with the round tip on the pin.

have a Lyman 410459 Keith done that way by buckshot and it shoots quite well and it expands well too

I love the RCBS molds & would certainly go that route. If you want to keep wt up, go w/ a cup point instead of deep HP. It will also give more uniform expansion @ higher vel, if that is the reason for HP. For low vel, a bigger/deeper HP works great. This is the 45/470SAA.

I forget the wt, and far from home now on business. The shoot very well.

I just HP'd a 265g Keith, I lost 15g and yielded a 250g HP boolit. The HP is .350" deep with 25* angle, .198" diameter at the nose
