Got a quote for 4 new tires last week and got a call from the tire store offering another 200.00 off of that bid for 4 new tires fot the Nisan 4x4. Went in today and asked how many wheel weights they had and would they give them to Me if I brought today. They had 6 boxes (aprox 30 pounds each) so I got 4 new LT275/R70-18 and a bunch of soon to be 45 and 38 projectiles!!

That's great, I have been pricing tires, have not purchased a set in a few years, can't believe how much they have went up in price.

My tire dealership has always given me a 5 gallon bucket full of wheel weights, sometimes two, when I purchased a set of tires. This has been going on for about 30 years. Last time I needed two sets, for two cars, I got four buckets of weights. Always been very happy with that! The toolman.

That takes a little sting off of buying tires, or at least makes it more fun.

When I did the math the lead comes to about 6 bucks a pound and the tires were free. LOL

Hmm, something to keep in mind when I 'reshoe' the Impala this summer. :)

Some times it works. I had a bunch of work done on my RV ($1,000.00) and when I went to pay the bill, I asked the guy about some wheel weights. He said sure and I thought I was in for a heavy lug back to the truck. He came back with just over a pound of them........... bummer.
