This is what the heating coil looks like after 6 casting sessions with my Lyman furance.
I casted about 4,000 bullets, never casting over a temp of 650, to say I am not pleased with this product is an understatement!!
What a piece of ****.

Is it under warranty? I know stuff happens, but that does look like the coil is too hot for the surrounding material.

Jon, thanks for your reply, I have had the pot for little over a year so I wil have to check on the warranty.
A friend of mine has two Lee pots he has been using for the last 18 years with no probs, made in the USA, of course Lyman is made in China--another good ole American Co. sold out, I can remember the Lyman Gunsight Corp. when it was all American made, very sad.

My "big dipper" probably wouldn't get hot enough to burn itself out...it struggles to get close to 700 degrees and shame on me if I dare add any sprues/rejects when it does get warm. All it gets used for anymore is a donor pot and rarely even for that.
Chairman Mao must be laughing in his grave.
