Anyone be willing?

A friend has a Marlin lever gun in .219 Zipper-just the standard Zipper.
He has a bunch of .30/30 brass but no reforming dies.
Anyone willing to run these through your dies and make them into .219 Zippers?Price with shipping?
Say about 150 rounds.:confused:

Now thats gona take alota squish there fella. If you dont have some kinda monster press your gona need more dies, like 7/30 waters and 25/35.
If you have a wallnut hill or some the likes maybe you can go one pass in just the zipper die but even with enough power you will likely get folds in the neck unless you go down in steps. You can also count on thick necks so look forward to neck turning. Just IMHO!

I agree with Bullshop. Back when I had more ambition than money, I formed .22/250 brass from 30/06 and .308 brass. It takes multiple passes through a succession of dies, and a neck reamer.

You need a 25-25 die set to do the job. First 30-30 to 25-35 then down to 219 zipper. Then they should be neck reamed. I will look to see if I still have some 25-35 dies around.

MidwayUSA shows .219 Zipper brass made by Jamison, in stock status as "coming soon". Quantities are 20 or 100 with prices running about $.50 each. Midway also lists .219 Zipper dies from 4 different companies.

Sellior and Belliot list 22 Hi Power loaded rounds at Cheaper than Dirt and Midway. Lots easier than even 25-35 brass. It's under the metric definition which is something like 5.6x53R

Yah, try hard to BUY your .219 brass. When I got my own .219 (on a Krag action) I tried forming down .30-30 via the .25-35, and by the time I got there the brass badly needed annealing and the necks were too thick. I finshed 50, just for the experience, but until I retire and have time and no money, I won't do it again.

I think I got my main stash of it from Buffalo Arms, or maybe Huntington.

you can also try grayback wildcat brass. it is pricy but should be formed. I think they use a hydraulic forming method.

I don't have the contact info at hand, but their add is usually in handloader magazine.

I think the problem is solved,said friend had $400 invested in the gun,has been offered $1400.00 for it.Somehow I do not think he will be requiring any brass now......
