Just got my first 1911 style gun.

My wife bought me Remington 1911 R1 for my birthday im looking for bullet mold to cast bullets for the gun. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's a smorgasbord of great ones for this caliber. You could hardly go wrong with most. Mine are mostly custom molds from Mihec or Accurate Molds. Lyman makes a good one to emulate the FMJ profile-#452374.

I'd like to hear how you like the R1.

I've cast up a bunch of these Lee TC 230 gr boolits for one of our law enforcement shooters and he loves them. They feed well in just about any .45 1911.

Lyman 452460 is a good one and you can usually find a used one for a good price pretty quick.

LOL, that's the one I went with. I just got back into another 1911a1 after not having one for a few years. Went with an ATI Commander size gun(see pics in my thread in the Our Town area) and wanted something that'd be effective IF I ever needed to use it in self defense but also something that'd feed well. I loaded it over 5.6grs of Unique, that's 2 tenths under the max. 5.8grs that my Speer #11 listed so it should be a good load but not max'ed out, don't like to run em' at max so the cases will last longer.
Anyway, congrats on the Remington, they look like a pretty good gun.
