Whoo! That was close.

I found a BUNCH of pewter listed at a local auction yesterday. Man, I thought I had hit the JACKPOT!!!!!!.... but then, before placing a bid (it's online bidding, but a local auction) I went and checked into just what this Ann Kary pewter is.

Turns out it's something known as "Mexican pewter" (aluminum and zinc), that supposedly, collectors just love.

Well, I'm glad the collectors love it, because I'm not touching it!

Thanks for the "heads up". Is there a list compiled here somewhere on known brands unacceptable for our purposes?
