It is a favorite of mine in 38, it and 357443 are the two I tend to use the most of.

That's the one I use for shooting my self-sealing plastic targets . Easy to cast and easy to find a nice load .

358311 is one of my favorites in .38spl. 3.5gr of Clays or 4.0-4.6gr of Universal Clays, great load. I shoot them out of a .357mag GP100.

I have the H&G #39 which is a clone of the Lyman. It is an excellent shooting design, with two wide bands, adequate lube and a good crimping groove. Casts easily and works well in the 357 Mag as well as the 38 special. Lots of data around over the years to choose from. LLS

One of the oldest, and best RN design for the .357 bore.

It is one of the easiest casting boolits out there. In my experience, it will generally group tighter than any SWC, and will give target WC ammo a run for its money. I have an older 4 cavity and will not part with it.

What he said. The RN is put down because it lacks in stopping power but be it known it doesn't take the back seat to anything for accuracy unless you really want to split hairs.

I bought a single cavity recently at a gun show for $8. A bit of rust that was easy to clean. Bought it for my Rossi and I nose bump it enough to use in the tubular magazine. I had Buckshot HP a single cavity that is the best casting mold I own.

I don't think I have any cast around. I know I haven't used it for years. It doesn't expand much as I recall at .38 special velocity. If I were considering to HP a mold again, I would select a gas check mold so I could cast softer and avoid any leading issues. I also had Buckshot do a Lyman .429421 (or maybe build a new pin?) and don't use it either. Would have done a ,429244 instead.

I have a Lyman four cavity mould for the 358411. "Back in the day" when I was shooting lots of PPC, that was my speed loading bullet of choice.

Most of my .38 Special loads are with 148 gr cast wadcutters (now it is the H&G #50 BB bullet from a four cavity original H&G mould).
