I'm a mick all right. My MIL is right off the boat, she's from Tarbert in County Kerry. I'm taking up a collection to send her back.

I've been standing on the west side of my place most of the day trying to catch the aroma of that bacon.

You must be too far over there. I'll have to try my hand at making my own.

My son is on a backpack trip through the Ozark Highlands. He cooks his bacon in the oven, and figured he needed one pound of bacon per man per day. I asked him about carrying fried bacon around where there might be bears...

...he said he didn't think of that, but he would cook up some extra for them.

Better to face constant bear attacks than to pitch camp without bacon.

No Duke I bought the sidemeat from the local butcher. Cured and smoked it on my own. Just about got the 25 lbs ate up by now.

Thanks for the reply. I have that pic stored now and will someday use it as a screen saver. :bigsmyl2: That much bacon would last me a couple years or so.
