have a pristine bannerman carbine and dies.
needed to pull together the rest to shoot this gun.
made brass from 45-90 by turning rims 10 thou off.
will add a shim to bolt face to take up excess headspace, and reset firing pin shoulder to get proper projection after shimming.
made a bullet sizing die that works in the rockchucker to push 300 grain .452 castings down to .446.
thinking 12 grains of unique for fireforming, then 20 grains 2400, 30 grains of either 4198 or 3031, for full power loads.
sure, the bullet is light, but .452 castings are much cheaper than .446, and don't have the desire to cast my own when missouri is so cheap.

your thoughts?

Others will show up with ideas for loads also. Mauser A base brass is available. Black powder was the origianl powder fo rthe cartridge, are you planning to use it?

Lee makes good dies!

Brass can be made from 45-90, slightly small but no problemo!
And please do not full size your brass. The rim is to short/narrow compared to a Mauser A (Boden) bottom. The indentation is there to facilitate the ejectors ride over the rim.
I did the mistake and full sized, thus i have to place a O-ring in front of the rim to hold the case up against the boltface.
Size and chamber for fit, repeat until closure.

Once fired it will fill the chamber and no more problems.
