I would appreciate advice for more precise open sights for My 44 Mag. I have the OEM sights now, and even though I found a thread from 2009 here, most of the offerings are now defunct. Ruger no longer offers a bead sight, and I dont know that I want to try a set of DOT sights regardless of color. So for sights shooting 100 yds and farther what do you suggest? I have a scope and mounts but prefer the open sights. What reccomendations do you have? Id sure appreciate some advice. Thanks.

Ruger no longer offers a bead sight

Give Gary Reeder a call. He sells the same type of express sights that Ruger used to sell.

About 5 years ago, I changed out the Ruger rear sights and replaced them with Millett Silhouette rear sights. I don't know if they still make those sights anymore.

I would suggest a flee bay search for ruger sights.

This might be good, Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RUGER-RED-HAWK-SIGHTS-/280840758514

Or not, thing is you can usually experiment pretty cheaply. Somtimes some of the older millet and bowen rough country sights even pop up.

You can also watch the selling section on this forum, good deals pop up there as well.

If you want a new set of sights, I am a big fan of the WEIGAND DX front sight and a bowen rear sight. You can get a weigand from midway but this may need modification. For the rear I really like the bowen sights.

Just my two cents worth

Thanks for the help Gentlemen! I have some things to look at now. I had found the Bowen site, but not Gary Reeder. Thanks for all of the responses.
