After years wanting a rook rifle, I took action. My .308 Encore with Williams sights stood idle after deer season.
I thought about chamber adapters, but decided to stick with a .308 case.
I am cutting clover leafs @ 25YDs with 2.8 Gr. of Bullseye, a .310 RB from my ML, and a pistol primer.
I do not have to re-size the case, mearly tap the RB in the mouth.
I am thinking of trying a 95 Gr. .32 S&W boolit, or a 115 Gr. 32/20 GC boolit.
The Encore is a little heavy at 6.75 #, but it is what I have.
I doubt I am saving money over a .22 LR.

Instead of the boolits for the .32's. Why don't you just use the 115's for the .30 Carbine?

What is a rook rifle? Sorry for the dumb question, but curiosity just got the better of me.

As I understand it, a rook rifle was created to shoot crows in urban England back in the day. A very underpowered rifle of limited range and noise levels that would allow safer hunting in a congested area. Now, the mention of a rifle and England in the same sentence gives you an idea of how long ago that was.

a rook is a baby crow. "rook" rifles were origanoly intended for shooting the young crows that could not yet fly away, so you only needed to shoot to the top of a tree and not much power was needed.
