Sorry for the crappy photos and all the questions but just curious if this looks home made or Blackmon. The point form is etched .2429 I do not see a way for seating cores either.

I have a set of Mr. Blackmons dies and they do not look like these. The thing on the left with the funnel shape on the end is a powder drop tube for an RCBS powder measure. Bill

Right I noticed that after the picture. Just one I sent to another gent. I am doing a bit of digging and it looks as though the piece second from the right is an RCBS punch holder. Not RCBS labeled on it however.

the powder funell could also be the screw in for a derim die.
you might wanna measure it.
i don't remember rcbs making a steel one.

I have two of the RCBS powder measures, the older one has the steel power drops and the newer one has plastic. Bill

^^^^Yeah I totally agree.

I am just more so curious about the point form die origin and how to modify my press and what other parts I may need? There is another die that I need to get a picture of that has a spring loaded in the wall held in with some sore of expanding clamp.

So it would appear Lafaun confirms this is a Blackmon die. Score for me. Now I just need the rest of the tools to go with it.

Huh? I recieved a brief email from Mr Blackmon.

"If the die is knurled I did not make it. It probably was made by Corbin.

Larry"

I thought that Mr. Blackmon was the only one who makes dies this way?

I did not see the picture of the die with the expanding clamp you described. Can you post that? I know RCBS used to make bullet dies with an aligator type insert that went into the point form die instead of the now more common ejection pin.

For the die on the right, what is the body diameter and the diameter of the threaded section?

Sorry. Expanding clamp is not right. Just a C clamp that holds the spring in. Looks like a decapping die for the most part. But there is another piece that looks like almost a seat insert.

As far as the "die on the right". That is a point form die that says .2429 engraved on the top.

Ok, not much help to you on the spring part, maybe a decapping die of some sorts?

For the point form die. The threads look like they might be 5/8 * 24, but I was asking about the diameter of the thicker part. If it is about 1" then it could be a Corbin Type S die.

Oh sorry. .796 is the diameter.

Thinking of getting rid of the .243 point die. Anyone know what it may be worth with the punch holder?
