A guy at work dumped a thousand or two rounds of brass on me at work the other day. Most is 45auto and 357mag. Now I have a few strange and different pieces laying around but when I pulled a handful out of the 45 stuff, they were all WCC and RA 41 and 42. Found an old WRA number too. This is nice looking stuff for as old as it is. Whats your opins. Worth much or just shooting fodder?:castmine:

If it looks sound, I'd shoot it. It may have some primer crimps to remove.

They're plain shooting fodder. I bought a bunch of mixed '41 and '42 .45's (loaded) from Cheaper than Dirt a few years back (and still have some.) It's leftover stuff from Civil Defense stocks, that was packed away in shelters with the canned food and first aid kits. It still chronos at 820 FPS, just like it did new. Corrosive primed, of course.

WCC and RA are Western (W-W) and Remington respectively. If you run across any FA (Frankford Arsenal) they use a .207" primer and may or may not have to have the pockest reamed or swaged to take .210" LP primers.

Shucks! Ya beat me to it. FWIW, if you can swage them, do it that way. reaming them is a total PITA.

You might want to wash the cases after decapping to remove all of the corrosive salts.
