Loaded some more PP bullets after annealing the bass as you guys said...

Turned to a dull red color...Did this last night...

Any how my range test today wasn't worth a damn..I even had some
key hole this time.Never did befor...So my question is,do you suppose
the life of the brass is over,so to speak?

I had several blow backs again, and I had 85.5 grains of 2F goex in the case.

So when I got back to the shack I measured the case mouths of some new
win. brass..It looked to me to be .0115 -.012 ? And the old brass .0085
as dear as I could tell....So do you all think the brass is useless for PP Bullets?
I would guess this brass has been loaded 60 70 times with smokeless
and black powder..No since wasteing the powder and bullets using it I figured.

Do you suppose it would be ok for the grease grooved bullets? One thing I
have is lots of new 45-70..I bought all the guy had a few years ago...I appreciate any
advice on this...As far as annealing,HOW ofter should that process be done?:Fire:

If you heated your brass to a dull red, you got it too hot. It should just barely begin to turn blue before you remove the heat. Whether or not that brass is toast, I don't know. You might try shooting it a few more times and see if it's performance improves. If not, then drop it into the recycle bucket.

Some folks anneal their .45-70 brass every loading; I anneal mine every few loads, but then I'm not competing against anyone but myself.
