It wouldn't surprise her. Mom was as gullable as they come, and still is.
Principle called home when I was a sophmore. Was inquiring why I was missing 2-3 days/week.
She asked, I told her I was going out to East Fork Lake reading books on the dock. Back then I did read alot.
15 yrs later we were laughing about the old days, and she mentioned it. I had to laugh, and told her the truth.
I was skipping school, and I was going to East Fork Lake, but we were out partying.
I definitley wasn't reading a book. Just the beer bottle and can labels.

You would think after 43 yrs of me, she'd realize I'm more full of s**t than anything.
But I can still feed her a line a mile long and she'll go for 6 mo or who knows how long, believing it, till I tell her the truth!
