Can anyone identify this alloy? I found it at a metal recycler here in NZ. Each block has a signature stamp on it and the mold at least was made in UK (or has the London company embossing in it).

It is quite strong and hard but breaks rather than bend. It starts to go porridgy before it melts and has a long slushy period on cooling. Would this be lino type or mono type or something?

Thanks. That should make a good tough boolit. Should be good with a small hollow nose for hunting. It didn't take much to get to the toughness/hardness I think I need.

G'day.
We still buy Babbit from Hoyt Metal here in OZ.
We use it for Saw packing in our Sawbenches in the sawmill.
