Cast vs FMJ loads

Most of the powder manufactures have very little data available for cast loads unless they are for factory cast boolits. I'm sure their risk management people had quite a bit of input into this. Is there a safe formula to use when working up a load for a cast boolit using jacketed data?

You need a couple editions of Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbooks or their Reloading Handbooks.

Agreed.....IF case volume is the same. Seating depth/case volume has a bearing on pressure.

Know your alloy and load for pressure consistent with its toughness. Then work velocities from there according to safety signs.

Safe formula is starting jacketed w/ equiv. lead bullets.

You generally can't get in trouble with starting condom loads, then work up from there.
