Frustrated...

Does anyone know a source for Low 30mm scope rings for a Ruger 77 in stainless or silver finish? It seems that Ruger doesn't make anything but a medium, high, and extra high. It's really a shame that they don't offer these.

Did you try Leupold as they make rings for the Ruger as well ,not sure of the height though?Harold

Have you tried Brownells? They're a bit pricey but had things I couldn't find elsewhere.

Sometimes a phone call to one of the techs at either Midway or Brownells would be able to tell you if they are available.

I have never been able to get really low rings for a 77. Thise Ruger bases and the design of the rings make them a high medium ring to start with. I like my scopes mounted as low as possible. I have often considered milling the bases off and fitting Weaver style bases.

I notice the new el-cheapo Ruger doesn't have these bases.

A big ol' 30mm scope with a big objective may mask the problem a tad.

Thanks for all the leads. Found what I needed from the good folks at Conetrol. If you need something relating to Top of The Line Mounts and Rings, give 'em a shout.

They make beautiful rings and mounts. I mounted an older VariX11 2-7 Leupold (the one with the small objective) on an Interarms MkX Mauser 3006. in 1991. Rifle has seen a thousand or more solid jacketed loads and still has it's original zero. Hasn't been touched in 22 years. Leupold and Conetrol, a match made in heaven.

I didn't realise that they made metric rings. I have an old Pecar 4x scope that I had rebuilt and I inadvertantly sold off the rings with a rifle. I would love to get it back into action and Conetrol looks like getting the nod.
