Hunters supply sells a different shaped hollow point, pentagon. http://www.hunters-supply.com/shop/index.php?cPath=45&osCsid=2b23c25b96dc270aec9cd3b37c21c457

also sold by midway.

Anyone have thoughts if the lead would exaned in a 380 auto? I don't see a BHN hardness number. Have shot a few full metal jackets and round nose lead in telephone books. Interesting bullets. The price seems expensive compared to flat point version.

You can find one of those moulds at: http://www.mp-molds.com/
A lot of us have them in various calibers.

That particular cast boolit from Hunters Supply is rated at BHN10. Should expand beautifully. I use them in 9MM and 40.

Hunter Supply and Erik Ohlen came up with the original idea.Have http://www.hollowpointmold.com/ modify a mold of your choice for it as a service of his R&D on the design.Or buy them from Hunters Supply direct.By American!

+1 for Erik's work. Looking at his site is to me what looking at AutoTrader is to Joe Dirt... Wish I had more disposable assets.

That's a 38/357 bullet you posted in your picture.

The bhn of the bullets your asking about is 10 or a 20 to 1 tin/lead ratio.

The penta points aid in expansion at slower speeds ( I have 2 different molds that I use/cast and test large round hp's vs penta point hp's). The 10bhn boolit/penta point combo's I've tested (38's/44's) seem to do their best expansion & staying intact wise in the 900 to 1000 fps range.

I know nothing about the 380acp, what kind of velocities can you get out of the 92gr boolit they have listed for sale on their website?

I have used Hunters Supply bullets in my .38-55 with good results.
Never used their handgun bullets.
