Is there such a thing?

Could you get a .356 mold, and a .356 sizer, size the for 9mm and not size for the .357 and .38?

Likewise, could you do the same with a .358 mold and a .356 sizer?

For what its worth, I use a lee 356 RN-with tumble lube based bullet, soposedly a 9mm, in .38 and .357 with no problems. Just as acurate in them as the larger size. these are shot "as cast" ; the lee mold drops a perfect .3565 so I don't bother sizing.

Could have a lot to do with the gun too, I don't know what my bore size actualy is in that gun.(mid 60s vintage security six, chambered in .357) And obviously, its fine in the 9mm browning too.

I use the rcbs 9mm round nose 115 grain in both my ppc guns. A clark custom model 10 smith and a sti trojan 9mm. Its been the most accurate bullet ive found in both. i size it to 357 for the 9 and 358 for the 38. IVe also had real good luck in both with the 105 lee swc.

356402 is another that works and are generally common enough to find. Gianni.

The classic and well-loved 358156 (160 SWC GC) works superbly in both .38 and .357, and believe it or not, it ALSO worked rather well in a 1960s-vintage Browning 9mm Hi-Power.

At that time, around 1970, I noticed that Lyman had published 9mm loads for the 358311, a 160 round-nose, and being of an experimental turn of mind even then......

I don't recall the exact load, but I DO remember the chronograph reporting a nice, consistent 970 fps. With 14 of those babies in the gun, it was almost like carrying THREE heavy-loaded .38 Chief's Specials! The SWC didn't feed as smoothly as the roundnose designs did, giving a kind of "hitch" in the middle of the cycle which could be felt...but it did feed reliably. I was surprised.

YES!

I feed everything in sight with a six cavity Lee 356-153-2R, now sadly discontinued. It feeds perfectly in all the autoloaders and is a pretty close match for the old 158 RN in the revolvers. It also holds just over an inch at 50 yards from a Handi.

My copy is the slickest casting mould I own, probably because the design has so few sharp edges. Bullets drop at just over .358 from my alloy and rarely need sizing for anything I shoot.

Years, maybe decades, ago Hensley & Gibbs use to recommend doing just that. Worked just fine.

Lee makes a small SWC bullet in 358 and it 105g and shoots well in both 9mm as well as 38 and 357.

Thanks all, my order got held up cause I have to set up a mail forwarding box in the US, so I'm trying to shave some money from the order and space at home here. Love the personal recommendations. Seeing people respond on this site is like going to a dozen gun ranges and asking questions, can't be beat.

KLW which part did they recommend?

KLW which part did they recommend?

It has been decades so I'm not sure. I seem to remember that if you bought a slightly oversized 357 bullet that you could then size it down for use in a 9mm.
