Cast bullets are great in the .30 Carbine. I'd use .310" diameter bullets if I could get them.
Stick pretty close to the suggested loads as the M1 Carbine is a funny little creature that requires certain pressure to be able to function reliably./beagle

If you don't want to cast for yourself they work fine.

+1. I cast my own plain base bullets, cast them hard (~21 BHN), and use 2400 powder with them.

Welcome to the forum. Either should work fine per comments already made.

Back in the '60s I shot abut a zillion 3118s in my M1-Carbine.
It is call the 311008 today.

I think it's a much better powder for lead. Much more flexible.

I loaded some 120 gr. this week, sized .309 and using 12 gr. H110. Great load. 308 may or may not work, or 309 for that matter. Depends on the individual gun.
I have loaded the MBC carbine bullets using Lil Gun and they work great.
