Hello,

Wondering how you folks deal with the lube on the base of the boolits when pan lubing.

I've set up my newly-made cutter to be adjustable to the point that the boolit base sticks out a bit. This lets me wipe them off before dropping them.

I'm wondering if you folks do anything similar, or whether you even concern yourself with it?

I have two thoughts on the subject: First, if left in place, the lube may act as a gas-check of sorts and leave plenty of lube for the next boolit.

Second, if the gun gets too hot, the lube may melt and contaminate the powder.

What are your thoughts and methods?

Thanks,

Josh

I doubt it makes a difference or is anything to be concerned with.

or just blow out the cylinder gap.
or back over the case and gunk up the chamber.
or collect powder.
or maybe nothin.
i'd just wipe it off.

I'm not sure I understand why you're getting lube on the base. I don't usually have any there when I pan lube.
