How do you fix pitting in a new Lee mold? It has some pitting on the side wall on a slot for the ingot. How would I fix it?

Like Bruce said if the ingot drops freely then there is no problem. If it hangs up or bothers you call Lee for a replacement.

Your pot doesn't care what the ingots look like when they are dropped in. If it bothers you that much a drimmel would probably do the trick.

It has a small hole or pit in the side of the mold. It about an 8th of an inch deep. Would it be possible to find a material to fill it in and make it flush with the surface of the mold? If so, what could I use?

Never used it. Looks like it could work. Might be cheaper easier to get a new mould.

The mold I have is new. Would drywall putty work, if not, what else that is cheap work to fill in the pit/void?

There is no way spackle will hold up to the heat. I wouldn't worry about it. They're just ingots and not a finished product.

Thanks. I will just make ingots and not worry about it.

If it really bugs you, drill it thru & put a set screw in it. It's an ingot, it only has to drop free.

Thanks. I will just make ingots and not worry about it. Good move. When you drop the ingots in the pot, you'll never know they were there anyway:lol:

First thing you should do is ship all those flawed unsightly ingots to me so I can dispose of them before someone sees them.

JB weld might work. I hate the stuff, but it has fixed a lot of things around here over the years....Believe it or not it's held the transmission housing of a D4 crawler together for many years and that thing was in many pieces...still hate the stuff....

any high temp epoxy would work as in the scope of things the temps we are dealing with are not that hot. But IMO unless the ingots are not falling out why bother with it?
