Here are a couple ideas:
2 oz Pewter + 20 lbs Clip on WW = alloy with @ 1% tin, 3% antimony
4 oz Pewter + 15 lbs Clip on WW = alloy with @ 2% tin, 3% antimony

/assuming that WW have 0.5% tin already

That's a broad question about what to use for hunting in a 44 mag.... Are we using gas checks?? That will matter. If you are, then you can go with a little softer mix. I cast my pewter into one pound ingots and add one to a 20 lb pot. Just make sure your boolits are big enough. Too small, and you get problems. It would help if you knew the size of your chamber mouths and groove dimensions of the barrel. More info will help. enjoy Mike
I take it back. I make my pewter into 1/2 pound ingots and throw one of THEM in the 20 pound pot. That's actually why I bought the Lee ingot mold - for the 1/2 pounders. Mike

Actually, the pewter ingots would weigh less than the 1/2 pound you listed because tin and the other metals in pewter is LESS dense than lead. It probably weighs about 1/3 of pound.

the tin 1/3 antimony mix is a good one.
i add some soft stuff to the above ww alloy.
3 parts ww's 1 part soft lead and bring it up to 1%ish tin.
how much you add isn't important, keeping things as close as you can from batch to batch is.

DAWG - Now we know what we're shootin. Good thing you decided on gas checks. So, get your mix to about 2% tin and you'll be good to go. Do you have any Lino to add if needed down the road?? enjoy Mike
