Missing the hammer screw, but a visit to Dixie Gun Works on Sunday morning had the screw in my hand Tuesday. Got it torn down and the fun part begins....

Hope the inside looks better than the outside.

Probably surprisingly valuable, but I am not a c&b guy.

The gun has alot of relatives, "Hey man you wanna buy a gun? Needs a little work, they go for alot more than I'm asking on the auction sites."

Its a complete 1860 Army, but I figure its worth about $100 as a wall hanger.

Nice lookin' 1860. How ya gonna treat it? Any idea how to get all that rust off? Just curious.http://castboolits.gunloads.com/imagehosting/thum_211414efb8083c3396.jpg (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=3148)VX\\BC

X2. That;s not bad at all. A little work, some polishing and either blue or brown depending on your taste and you've got a tool to use.

Here is where it stands now. The bore is pitted in spots, but the rifling is still deep and sharp. The next step will be something like electrolysis.
