Lee 358-150 SWC

Hi folks. Lee use to make a 358-150 SWC. It's not shown in their current line up but I bought one old stock in an out of the way gun store recently. Is this mold anywhere comparable to the Lyman 358477 or it's twin the RCBS 38-150 SWC? I notice the lube grooves are 2 skinny ones as opposed to the one large one on the Lyman and RCBS mold. Like maybe it might run out of lube at higher velocity?
Both the Lyman and the RCBS 150 SWC moulds seem to get very good reviews here on Cast Boolits. Has anyone here owned the Lee 150 SWC mould to either like or dis-like it? Zack

I have that mould. Shoot lotsof them in 38specials. Tha is my most used 38 cal bullet.
I haven't driven them real hard but they work very well for me in a couple revolvers. I sure wish my Marlin liked them. That Marlin hates every swc I have tried.

Has always been good to me, Never had a leading issue from lack of lube. My K38 has seen a bunch of them.

I use that mold in both 38 & 357.

I use Unique and Herco powders. I load it from very light in 38, to very stiff in the 357.

I like the mold. While I never had a problem with leading.....I do wish that Lee would use
bigger or deeper grease grooves.

I had a HP version of that mold. It had a much narrower point, meplate and lube grooves than the 358477.

I have that mold too. It was given to me when I bought a guy out of his casting/reloading gear. He told me to throw it out because it was junk. It was beat almost to death. I had to redrill and tap the sprue screw hole again. It is covered with hammer marks (not from me), but will still cast a good bullet. I have shot many of them. They are accurate in all my guns.

Yes the bullet looks to be accurate from what I've played with it today. Pity, I was looking for an excuse to buy a 358477 mold. Zack
