Got a Rem O3A3 with a 2 groove barrel.I will be casting bullets for it soon and wondered will the 2 groove barrel create more pressure than a 4?

It will not make any noticable difference in pressure. Accuracy is pretty much equal also.

I have a Remington 1903a3 with a 2 groove and it shoots just fine with cast.

Some folks on here even swear the 2 groove is better for cast.

I have one of each and I can't really tell much difference, they both sling lead like a champ.

Two groove barrels are said to support a long bore riding nose better than any others. I think the Lyman 311299 was designed for a two groove barrel.

My most used load is with the Lyman 311041 in my Rem 2 groove. I have used 314299 sized to .310" and accuracy was about the same.

The last good day I had where I could still shoot without my Leadsled I was able to keep almost all my shots on the 100 yard military taget at 200 yards in the black. Confused now?

My load is 19grs of SR4759, WLR primer, 311041. I load to 2 different overall lengths. For slow fire I seated the bullet into the rifling, for rapid fire I was off the lands by a couple thousands.

Mine shoots the 311284, 311299 and LEE 180 quite well.

. . . . will the 2 groove barrel create more pressure than a 4?

"Not 'sose ya notice."

Reports are that the wide lands support the nose on a bore rider type boolit better, but
I have not had time to get to that particular research project yet.
