Well, I'll have to admit. I'm a fan of .357 caliber wheelguns. I own a Model 65, a model 10 (2 inch) with a grip adapter, two Ruger SP101s (one in 38spl, one in 357mag), a Taurus j-frame ultra-light, etc, etc, etc....

I've really been doing some thinking on what I want next. And one thing I've decided is it has to be another .357magnum with Adjustable Sights.

Now one thing I've ALWAYS wanted was a 3" Model 60 with adjustables... Something about that handgun has just always been the cat meow to me. And unfortunately I've never had the funds when the right one came around. So this is very tempting.

But something else I've always thought was REALLY nice was the infamous Model 27. Lord knows, I love this wheely. And I'd have to go with the 6 1/2 inch classic. That 4" gun is not gonna do it.

Price is not a issue. I've got the grand to drop on it. I really like the idea of the model 60 for the concealability of it (yes I go everywhere heeled). But I really like the the look of the 27, and I've heard great things about them (though I've never actually shot one).

Somebody please help me, I can't make up my mind. What's your experience???

I'd split the difference and go with a mdl 66 4". I had a 27 with 8 3/8" barrel and checkered topstrap. It was a wonderful piece, but a little heavy. More than made up for it with it's accuracy.

Well, I'd originally thought about another K frame. But I'm kinda wanting one more geared towards hunting/target shooting. But wouldn't turn down another CC piece either. I'll have to say I'm heavily leaning towards the 27. Maybe I should drop $1700 and buy one of both, lol

Start shopping and get both a good used 27-2 should be about 750-800.

Get both. Whichever one you find a good deal on first.

I like J-frames and N-frames, but you are likely to put more rds through the 27.

I have an 8 3/8' 27-2 and a model 36 with a 3" barrel. The 27 is a wonderful gun, and it is special because I got it from my SIL after her husband passed. I never met him as they were only married a couple of months back in Mich. I spoke on the phone to help him decide on a gun, etc to take on an elk hunt. Think he was 45, had a brain anurisim(sp).

The 36 is and older gun, 1967 IIRC from the serial number. Has fixed sights but shoots on the money with most loads. I can shoot a paper plate sized group offhand at 110 yards with it.

Buy a 27 then buy the Taurus 327 from CDNN for $220. and you probably will be out of money.

I hadn't thought about going with a Taurus.... You mean the 627 or the 327? I have seen the 627.
