I have this lead and it has been melted and tarnished. Do you think this is pure as it is very soft.

Here is square of pure lead in a pan with pure lead on the bottom.

Both of these pics with the ingots and lead show pure lead.

Here is the same block of lead shown in the pan. The lead is tarnished and has crystals on it. This pic of the lead square was taken a few weeks later.

Notice the crystals on the lead. It is also smooth and very soft. I can easily bend this 1/8 inch thick square of lead with my hand. I didn't bend it completely because I didn't want to have a warped piece of lead. This square has may scratches from me scratching by accident because it is very soft. I think this is pure along with the lead ingots circled in the top pic. What do you think?

i think it's close enough that i would use it as pure.

If you had a set of artist scetch pencils you could do the scratch test.

Most of the pure lead that I've seen: Once it's in ingots it has a bluish hue that you can see on the top of the ingot. If it has the blue hue, then I consider it pure enough to use as pure lead.

Has a blueish rainbow color on the tops and bottoms of the lead muffins.
