I will be running the GB and we well be using Night Owl Enterprise (NOE) to make the moulds.

A minimum of 5 orders for moulds is required to waive the tooling cost and be placed on the production schedule. This is a small group buy based on a 311365 that NOE has already produced.

Post your order on this thread. I will keep the post below this updated with the orders. When the 5th order has been placed (doesn't have to be paid for) we will then be put on NOE's production schedule.

You may order any number of cavities available. You will just need to pay the appropriate price.

1 cavity moulds are $68 ea.
2 cavity moulds are $72 ea.
3 cavity moulds are $79 ea.
4 cavity moulds are $85 ea.
5 cavity moulds are $92 ea.

The hollow point option for one cavity will be the standard $35.
Blank Hollow point pins will be an extra $1.50 each.

Shipping to you with insurance will be $10

A Lyman, RCBS type top punch is included along with a sample of Bull Plate sprue lube.

I'm the honcho

112 Old Lime Kiln Rd
Arden, NC 28704

What you must do:
Send me a letter with your handle, your shipping address, what you ordered, and the money. (check or MO is fine)

The buy will remain open until one month prior to production. ONE MONTH PRIOR TO PRODUCTION I WILL CALL FOR PAYMENT. You do not need to pay prior to this, but you can if you want.
When I call for payment I will need all payments in within the week or you will miss out.

For those out of country please PM me for details on payment options and shipping costs.

NOE will ship them all to me and I’ll test cast with a few of them and then if all is well, send out the moulds.

What is the diameter, as cast, expected to be on this one??

how hard is it for NOE to alter the size? I have have seen NOE make multi diameter designs.

If there were requests for 0.368-0.369, could NOE add that easily?

or would it require another thread?

just curious.....

Swede's schedule runs through Feb 2013 and this buy isn't on it yet. I'll have my next SS raise in plenty of time although 2013 isn't an election year so they may wait til 2014 to bribe us geezers. My Whelen will be well fed with 358315,358318,358009,358365 & a Hoch 360285.

As long as you keep velocity up it would be marginally stable.

Friday is the last day! NOE will start cutting moulds. If you said you'd pay but haven't you better get to it!

If you don't see one of these next to your name * your mould will NOT get made, and you'll have to get one directly from NOE and what he keeps in inventory.

Typically he doesn't keep moulds with mix and match plain base an gas check cavities on the inventory shelf.

I think we got 11 or 12 birds. Even at age 44 he can still learn. Planted those seeds a long time ago.

I wish that the top punch wouldn't leave a ring arount the ogive of the boolits. Anyone have a solution to that problem. I guess I could take a dremel grinder to the bottom of the top punch to see if it would help.

Blammer
01-21-2013, 05:17 PM
Hicard yes I had that problem. take a piece of sandpaper, fine say 200grit or finer, put it around the nose of a boolit for that top punch, then spin the top punch by hand on the sandpaper boolit, It will take that "edge" off of the Top punch that is causing the ring. 3-4 turns and done.

Blammer, the pics show a W I D E nose.

were those cast with a RG?

My order was with a standard mould HP'd.... would it have the same wide nose with the HP?

if FP'd, on one like mine, will the meplat also huge like the one in the picture?

Blammer
01-21-2013, 11:51 PM
nanuk, those were cast with my 4C and one cavity was HP'ed. So you're mould would cast the same. If you just fill in the HP, that is what the FP will look like.

if you want some specific dimensions on them before I ship your mould, PM me I'll get them for you. I'd hate for you to get a mould you really don't want.

no, they will work just fine for what I have planned.

I was not looking for a long range target boolit

I was looking for a medium range hunter.

I think these will fill that niche just fine!

it was just they looked to have a wider nose than the spec'd pic. and I was wondering if the RG's would be different than the single HP's.

I'm getting a couple Whelens, and have a 9.3x62 to PP in... it should work just fine as it is. In fact, it may work a bit better at a reasonable speed. After all, I was looking for a MOOSE boolit in 35cal. I think I found it!
