I was gonna try and load some .357s using a Lyman 358311 boolit and some H110. Lyman has a published load that starts at 13.0gr of H110 and maxes out at 18.3gr H110 for the boolit. They also state that the OAL length is 1.590.
Question 1: Who has loaded this recipe and where did you crimp the boolit? Over the 1st driving band or did you trim brass and crimp in the crimping groove?
If I leave the trim length standard it makes the round OAL of 1.650" which come flush with the end of my cylinder. Lyman says the OAL should be 1.590" There's no way I can get that short unless I trim brass to 1.225" or crimp over the 1st driving band. Which is a better practice?
Question 2: This seems like A LOT of H110 powder and its a published Lyman load. What does your Lyman books say?
