Now this is all new to me. I did not know, so fo New Bees I will state that a PID controller is a device that precisely controls electrical energy to an appliance (casting pot in our case) so that appliance function (temperature in our case) is precisely maintained. Modern controllers for temperature typically have digital displays reading in F and C well within 1 degee of either accuracy. To use the controller on an appliance one needs, in adition to the controller, an electrical relay, a temperature probe of correct range, and some very basic wiring.
No, youse guy that know all of this, can you help get a post with a shopping list of pre-made components from readily available sources like Amazon or such.

As for instruction, how about a how to on getting the 110V output from the relay to operate the pot? Do you just cut the 'line" side of the pot's cord and splice the put let plug end of that "line" side to the "line in" of the relay and then connect the remaining "line out" to the section of that cord running to the pot; leaving the common wire intact? or should an outlet box be fashioned to do that properly (sounds like a better idea to me). But I dunno.
Can Ya help shop and such? Better components and lower price or .......
