Hi guys,

I'm working out a custom bullet design for a 357 lever rifle and want to put a gas check on it. Although I have a Checkmaker for plain base bullets, I plan to order the standard 35 cal Checkmaker too.

To get a really good fit, it would be good to know the ID and the depth of the checks made using the Checkmaker. I can tweak the mould design to fit, if I need to.

I would be great if they would "pop-on" nice and easy. Anyone work this out yet?

As always, thanks for your input and feedback.

Order your mold to industry standard dimensions. You will be fine.

If for some reason the shank is out one way or the other, that's an easy adjustment with my Checkmaker™ by using an optional male die, but 35 caliber is very forgiving with my dies, and I've yet to have a single order for 35 caliber not fit well. And that's with a ton of them out there.

The PB I tend to run a larger ID so it will fit a wide range of plain bases, and PB's gas checks are a whole different animal. My standard shank dies work like you want them to and if for some reason not, I need to get you a corrected one.

Take care,
