Any of you guys around the age of 19, melt lead, and play xbox 360? If so, what is your gamer profile?

I'd like to find someone that does have an xbox 360 account, because I bug everyone I talk to about lead and need someone with the same interests.

runfiveslittlegirl is a member here [she's not 19 only 18]
she does some of my smelting and occasionally some casting and reloading.
she is much better at the unloading part however.
we have a playstation no games for it though,
sorry dude.

That is OK. I will just stick to talking to you guys on the forum and melting lead, since I don't need to be on those games all the time since no one on them talks about lead. Melting lead is more fun in my opinion than playing video games.

I play X Box some. Mostly to avoid boredom, I don't go online. But I'm closer to 70 than you are to 20. I'd be very (emphasis) surprised if very many young game heads reload, more surprised if they cast. Yup, that'd be a conversation - between a 70 year old and a 20 year old on the X Box site talking about melting lead.

I guess I am getting closer the the majority at 28. Never did get into the box or station games. Not that I didn't have fun when I was playing at a friends I just couldn't see spending money and time on them that I could use for my shooting addiction. That and I prefer to be outside. Now that I am married with a couple rugrats running around there is even less time. I should also mention that I don't even have a cell phone. Why do I need one, everyone else has one.

I just get more satisfaction from going for a hike, reloading, shooting, restling with the kids ect than I do playing video games. It is just too much fun being outside. Its my Dads fault really.

Well, makes me feel seasoned now, 37 soon, so I'm in the majority now. Played some games years ago, but have found other things to spend my time doing. Shooting, reloading, casting, family, camping, hunting, geocaching. Not much time for games anymore.

Always carry, never tell.

19, I remember 19. I spent the spring I was 19 at Parris Island. But that was in 1979.

Sorry 2693, I can't help you on the games stuff. The last game I was into was "Fighter Pilot" on my original Gateway PC in 1997. It won't even play on my other computers. I liked it, it was simple and fun. I've tried playing the other games the kids have had on the Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Xbox, Playstation. I never could see just what I was supposed to be doing for Sonic the Hedgehog. I kind of liked the oldests "Band of Brothers" he got for the Wii thing. He sold or traded that for something illegal, I'm sure. I don't have much use for the modern world. The Wii keeps my little ones dancing around on cold days, that's good I guess.

Bret, I was also at Parris Island (2n Bn) in the summer of 1979, but I was just a lad at 18. Went back in 1990 as a DI (1st Bn). That was my wife's favorite duty station by the way. We lived in SNCO housing on the island.....she claimed she could hear me yelling from across the parade deck. Good times!!

It cool to have polite reactions from from y'all people. I too am interested in lead melting more than playing games, but when its raining there is nothing else to do as my dad wants me to melt outside because of insurance won't cover house if it burns down from me melting lead in it. So I play at night and when it is raining.

LML, good to see younger folks getting involved in the boolit pouring bit at younger ages. I was 26 when I first got involved, and 30 years older now. Most of my kids are gamers at some level, and look upon Dad as a larger kid with an older set of toys. That isn't a new development, by any means.

As others have said, I was more about getting outdoors and hunting or fishing at age 19, and still am.

DragoonDrake
02-22-2012, 03:46 PM
I have one for you. I am more interested in being outdoors than my father is. He has all the stations xbox 360, PS3. I had bought the Wii for him but he was not interested in moving his arms around that much. My father is only 70 but he has a bad hip.

Far from 19, but I'm 36 and I do both at times... melt lead and play a little COD MW2 on the Xbox a little bit here and there. It doesn't take me long to MUTE most everyone that is using a microphone though as it annoys me. I don't mean to stereotype, but I seem to end up with either younger teens being teens or slightly older people being mean and swearing a lot. I just like to sit down and enjoy shooting everyone :) -Brad

Ah, the good old days in the Thumpin' Third Bn, Paltoon 3002. I ran into a guy up here in the Marine Corps League that was in Platoon 3016 or something like that, the next series after mine. He got there a week after I did. What's more, I ran into a guy as the NYSP Academy in my class there that I used to deliver airplane parts to on Okinawa! Small world. I wonder whatever happened to some of those guys? I tried finding my old CWO4 Gunner I used to work for, I'm sure he retired to Okinawa where he and his Okinawan wife owned a home. Probably dead and gone by now.

It is pretty cool to see i'm not the only 19yo on here, sometimes it doesn't seem to matter and other times it does... Like when i try and name the presses made from 1949 to date! But it's all relative, and i have never had any trouble from another member here about my age. Other forums yes, here is a great bunch of guys that are patient but don't always assume you're a total newb either!

Good to hear from a youngster that casts, but most of us are triple that or more and
wouldn't know an xbox from a cereal box. I'm a computer guy, so I do know a lot about
them, but never found the games even fractionally as interesting as reality. Also, I have
a very bad view of them from a family member that crawled off into the video games and
has yet to re-enter reality in a meaningful way. Hate the things, actually for what they
did to him.

Sorry, I don't play xbox 360, but you will no doubt find someone here who does.

Hmmm, what ever happened to Pong? It didn't exist yet when I was 19, it wasn't invented until I was 22. Been melting lead since I was 14, though. Outside of road kill, my gamer profile is mule deer, antelope, and elk. Black bear once in awhile. We also have oryx, but I can't afford the exotic game tag.

Wow, when I was 19, Reagan got shot. Then I left the country for a while. (the 2 events were NOT related). My, how time flies when you are having fun. I get onto the 360 for maybe 3 hours each month now. Mostly for some quality time with my daughter playing Halo. Many other things that I feel are a much better usage of my time than playing video games.

When I was 19, this was an electronic game.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=97908&d=1393404390

This was how we listened to our music, especially in our cars.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=97907&d=1393404368

This was our telephone.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=97909&d=1393404406

And our cable tv--13 whole channels, plus two UHF channels if you got the extra antenna.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=97910&d=1393404422

And finally, our word processor we used to type and send messages.

http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=97911&d=1393404613

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to rub some Absorbine Jr on my arthritic knees, gulp some Bayer aspirin, put the heating pad on my back and try to get some sleep. I do have a digital alarm clock, though. :)

Life was simple back then.
