Revolver hunters...
What style do you prefer on the business end?

I've only come up with two real preferences:
1-Flat point.
2-Lot's of lead in front of the case mouth.

Unless I'm after bunnies and then it's just real slow no matter the slug.

RNFP, WLN or WFN, take your pick.

I prefer WFN or LFN heavy for caliber bullets for my revolver hunting.
They seem to give me the best accuracy with plenty of tissue damage.

300+gr bullets at 1300fps are way overkill for whitetails however I prefer to only have a single go to hunting load.

Greetings
I prefer heavy for the caliber with the largest metplate possible cast of the softest mix the load will shoot accurately. So for me with the 41 mag it is a 265 grain+. With the 45 Colt I go with again a 265+ and I have not gone beyond 300 grains. In the 414 Supermag I prefer 285 grains +.

for deer hunting a 44 mag
with 300 gr boolits
or hunting larger critters
a 480 rug with boolits from
350 gr to 420 gr also with manageable meplats
not always looking for the biggest but demand accuracy

LFN,WFN,SWC have all worked for me. I like at least a .320 meplat for 44 or 45.

my serious hunting boolit is a 255 LWNGC .41 cal WDWW-sized .410 crimp on gc and a .331 meplat -- holes normally in deer or the one boar I shot 1.5"
I like LWn or .41 Keiths with .28-.30 meplat

SWC, FN, RFN, OWC, WC, all have worked for me. Nothing bigger than deer though.

For deer with my .45 Colt, I use the Mihec .45-270 HP bullet cast about 20-1.

I like WFN styles unless i'm shooting my soft pointed SWC boolits then it don't matter much. And in a big bore a SWC design works well anyways if it's what you have.

Keith SWC. Good meplat, drive dead straight, almost always exit, so two holes.

I've used the RCBS 255 gr. SWC for my last three Mule Deer and it worked great. Shoots very accurate in my Ruger BH with 18 grs of AA#9 and Federal cases.
