After 2yrs of off and on again testing loads, modifying my mold, changing the sizing that i was using and changing powders i finally got my B.C 45/70 to put'em all touchin inside a 2" sqaure at a 100yds instead of the 12" one that it only wanted to make. And to think my biggest fear when i first started this was hoping i would'nt have a leading problem!! Now I get to try getting my H&R Ultra in 450 Marlin to do the same and i can die a happy man.

P.S Anyone have loading data for shooting cast in a 450 Marlin?

P.S.S Thanks to everybody that helped me by answering all my stupid questions!lol!

Nope. You will succeed in that quest. The membership here will see to that.

But.

By the time you do, you will have another rifle just begging for lead.

the 450 is a 45/70 magnum,why not start there.
you might be surprised at how many guns shoot well with the same load.

Sort of an "if at first you don't suceed" type of thing I would guess. Some things ya just gotta stick with until they work or you exhaust logic.

In my 45/70 i used almost all of the usually recommended powders but did not get the kind of repeatable accuracy i was looking for . so on a whim i tried 4831, BINGO !!!! 50 gr 4831 slightly compressed , Saeco # 020, 540 gr fn bullet 2 1/2 inch 25 shot group at 200 yards with a 6.5x20 leupold scope .
