Hey. Does anyone have a set of SAECO mold handles for an 8 cavity mold (old) they could post a picture of? I ran across 2 of these and would like to put them in production. Problem is, I can't find any handles to fit. Got with KAL, but they couldn't help. I tried to send drawings via the net, but it got all garbled. Lyman "nutcracker" handles are a little short. Also, both these molds have 2 set screws for the handles on each mold half. I'm thinking of cutting back the wood on the Lyman and then drilling for the set screws. Thanks for any help.

Did you see this post?

Mike has an 8 cav, you might ask him, but I think they use basically standard saeco handles. Some of the older ones had 2 holes drilled in each side, I think that was for using the larger 8 cav molds. Maybe you can drill a second hole in a standard Saeco set?

Sure would like to have one of those Saeco 8 cav mold. Dunno why, but I'd like to have one in my collection. If you get the pics figured out, send me some, I'd love to see them. Thanks, Billy

Thanks for the info/research. I can post some pics. Figured that out, just my camera is not the primo model. These are from that batch I was talking about in other posts. A 068 200 gr SWC .45 and a 457 225 RN .45. I saw these and thought, I'm keeping these. These old molds have 1/4 inch thick sprue plates.

Thanks, bobthenailer. One of these is 4-1/4 inches long, and one is 4-3/4 inches long. I just need to find some SAECO handles for them. Another project to start. Like I don't have 20 going right now. Thanks for the info!

Saeco only sells on set of handles that work with all their moulds. Back when they first bought out Cramer I don't think their handles were as standardized, but now (and for a long time I think) they buy their handles from a company called Scoville that also makes the current Lyman handles.
