On friday I went in to the local dealer and picked up the 336ER , 1897CB and 17 Mach II that he had waiting for me .
And saturday I went to an auction in western VA and bought a first model 444 .

Nice looking crowd ya got there . Is the .357 brand new or used ? Just curious , checking the market values of the 1984c to see what is there .

It's not a 357 !
It's a 336ER in 356 WIN caliber [smilie=1:
There were only 2,600 or so 356 WIN's made by Marlin and at the moment I own two of them :drinks:

Yeah, they're like that. Marie just thiefs the ones from the gun safe she likes--SIG P-228, Mini-14, Ruger 77RC/223, and a few others. She does let me reload for them. Not the worst outcome, by a long margin.

Oh MAN! I am SOOOooo envious...
I ran across one of those a couple of years ago at a show - the dealer knew what he had and was asking a stiff price for it - and I had other requirements and limited funds. With a tear in my eye I left it there...
The first and ONLY one I've ever actually seen.
Sigh...
:(
Good luck with that treasure!

The first 336ER I ever saw in person was about a year ago when I got my first from a guy on marlinowners . Never laid eyes on one until that one arrived at my dealers .
Then I saw one of the NIB ones at the Fredricksburg VA Gander Mountain for about $1200 I think . Saw it before xmas . Went back after to get it and it was gone :-?
Got the one in this pic from another guy on marlinowners about three weeks ago , he let me trade an 80's Ruger SBH that was like new as partial payment .
Now I have a pair of Marlin 356's and a pair of Marlin 375's . So once I decide which I can have a rifle for cast in each caliber and a rifle for jacketed in each caliber :drinks:

I meant she might wanna change my unmarried single status :???:
She doesn;t realize how long and hard that might be for her , as I'm not near ready for wife number "3"[smilie=1:

Opps , my mistake . For an old guy like me seeing 1894c instead of 1897cb is easy . Only a couple Marlins adorn my rifle rack , got the big bore and little bore so I'm happy . Sorry once again .

I took these 3 to the range sunday , with pretty decent results :drinks:
The 444 and 356 did fine , but that little 1897 is a blast .
Getting ready to leave here in a few minutes for the range . I have all three of these packed as well as a Marlin 375 and my Marlin in 219 Zipper .
Packed along a 357 Blackhawk just for fun also [smilie=1:

Either way its not an issue :-D
Just glad you saw fit to look at my junk

I knew what ya meant, sir. :-)
2 of the 356 and 375, one each for j-words and castings.......total decadence. I love it.

My apologies . I saw the flat bolt of the top photo , didn't know there even was a 1897 , and failed to look close at the other pictures with what looks like a take-down knob . I don't have the book "Marlins for dummies" but I guess I shoulda seen that . Sorry to cause a stir .
