For those of you that would like to stamp your ingots, HERE (http://www.youngbrosstampworks.com/index.html) is a site that sells individual steel stamping stencils. Stencils are available in numbers and letters in sets and individually in various sizes.

Got mine at Harbor Freight. Around $10 IIRC, no more than $20 for sure. Cheap but make w's for wheelweights, DPb for dental xray foil lead and Pewter.

Black Sharpie works for me. You can finger wipe right after and still leaves plenty enough to read in pores. Gtek

Harbor Freight for me too. I have the 3/8" ones, which are the biggest they sell I believe. They work fine for me.

I have a Harbor Freight 1/4" 36 piece stamp set that was pretty CHEAP to buy.

I use one of those electric vibrating markers. Just as easy as writing with a pen.

I scribe mine with a .....metal scribe while they are hot and more scrap is smelting in the pot. Range scrap is R, linotype is....guess...L and so on.

That's cool, Jim, do they make the "Castboolits" logo? :kidding:

When not using Blammer's group buy ingot moulds with the ID marks cast in (dimple with a punch next to the appropriate symbol for ID) I use the HF 1/4" steel stamp set, got it on sale years ago for $4. I clamp a row of letters together between two small pieces of hardwood to make different words.

If you don't mind working a bit slower you can easily mark the ingots using an ordinary screwdriver with a 3/8" or 1/2" flat and a wooden mallet or regular hammer. The letters of the alphabet or the numbers can be formed by placing the flat vertical and tapping the screwdriver handle. Not too hard as it doesn't take much to get the driver to imprint what you want/need. LLS

A little extra work, but free. I like it.
