Tom,
That is one very slick looking set up! That almost needs a glass case to display it in. Very nice.

...............Pretty nice looking revolter! Almost too purty to mess up being shot, but then that'd be a even bigger shame.

I admit i am not much of a card player. I am trying to figure out why aces and 8's? I tried adding them up to see if it equaled a year or date, just not figuring it out.

That's called the dead man's hand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_man's_hand). Bill Hickock got shot in the back of the head while playing poker. He had a habit of always sitting with his back to the wall to watch for adversaries. On this occasion, the only seat available at the table put him with his back to the door. Somebody that had a vendetta against him came in the saloon, saw the opportunity, drew and fired. Hickock was holding a pair of aces and a pair of eights. Thus the name for that hand.

That's a beautiful outfit, Tom. I know you're proud of it and rightly so.

Sure do like those aces-n-8s grips.

Anyone know if they are available as an aftermarket purchase and from who?
Will be purchasing a brace of 1858s and they would look real NICE with those grips.

There's no cartridge loops on the belt. You was robbed.

Jim's right. It is called the dead man's hand. Ole Wild Bill was holding those cards when he was shot in the head. BC

I am currently awaiting the arrival of a set of grips for my BH convertible from Altamont. http://www.altamontco.com/

They have a large selection to choose from in several different materials.

I don't remember the company name, but I also saw a place that sells real ivory and mammoth grips. Somewhere in the range of $400.00 and up.

Just try running handgun grips and see what comes back.

The person I bought the gun from, he is going to make me up a matching cross draw holster.

This is his website. http://atouchofyellowleatherwerkes.weebly.com/
