Picked up a few pounds of bar solder thinking it was a 50/50 but when I got it home I read the faint stamps that said; 5%Sn 93.5% Pb 1.5%Ag.
Just wondering if anyone has had silver in theirs. I hear it's a good thing in casting boolits but have never had any before. At least it has some tin too.

Show a pic please. I never used bar solder but it would help other people.

High lead solder is used in electronic industry a bit. We use at bit of solder with 2% silver to improve wetting to certain types of boards and components.
Being 93.5 percent lead is not a good source for tin.

1.5%? I don't think that's high enough for vampires. Might wing em tho. [smilie=1:

I figure it isn't enough silver to kill werewolves but just enough get them PO'd.
I've seen that Lazecast uses some silver in their boolits. I figure this should work with a mix of WW and this bar solder water dropped for some decent boolits. I'll try it this week end.

I had a couple of spools of SN62 which had a silver content. Ordered for circuit board repair but they junked it. Alloyed just fine for my bullet casting./beagle
