I'm looking for some loads for 158 gr. & 200 gr. cast bullets with Unique powder for my 357 Herrett. I saw a message somewhere that said the Lyman no. 46 manual has these. Can someone with access to one of these Lyman manuals give them to me?
For the Lyman 358156 (158 grain) they show a starting load of 9.0 grains of Unique for about 1350 fps (depending on bbl length) and a max load of 12.8 grains of Unique for about 1700 fps. They do not list loads for 200 grain bullets.

You may want to invest in one of those small loadbooks. They are the ones with colored covers and plastic bindings. They are usually about 8-10 bucks and are caliber specific. They have the loads from all the major books. They also have pages in the front that you can keep notes on. Excellent for load development.

Thanks Glen, exactly what I was looking for. I have a 4 cavity mold of the 358156 on the way. Mosty wanted a lighter load with the 158 gr. bullets. I already have a good load with SR4759 for the 200 grainers. I shoot silhouettes and the 200's will be good "ram killers", but would be a bit much for a full 40 or 80 round match.
Pumpguy, don't think they print one of those little books for the 357 Herrett, do they? I have one for the .223 and .357 Mag.

Just wanted to update this message. Got the Lyman 358156 4 banger running. Damn, those 4 cavity steel molds area heavy, but they sure do cast a bunch of bullets in a hurry! Cast from WW & gas checked and lubed they run 161 -162 gr. Loaded them up with 11.5, 12 and 12.5 gr. of Unique. All the fired cased fall right out, and best of all shoot into about 1 1/2" at 50 yds. with open sight on a 14" barrel!
This bullet shoots good in my 35 Rem. too.
Thanks again Glen!

I also am shooting the herrett. I got both loadbooks for TC's. I assume you're shooting a 'tender ..... Midway or Cabelas had the Loadbooks for $9-10 each back around Christmas. They're a wealth of info. IMO
I have a great load for my 14" herrett for deer but am thinking about a .358 mold of some sort soon. My 45-70 mold is getting lonely......
