I didn't have a mold for the 45 ACP that was similar to Lyman's 230 gr RN so in looking at Accurate Molds choices, I decided this one looked good and talked with Tom about it. I got a brass 3-holer. It should be here sometime next week.

When I was a kid, a three holer meant something other than a mold. Usually a big family. Times change.

I was looking for a similar boolit to Lyman's 452374 and this one I liked the best. I probably would have gotten the Lyman but it was a toss of the coin as to what size boolits it would have dropped.

I normally don't like round nose bullets but that really nice. I think I might be able to replace my 200gr SWC with that one.

I have a 3 hole brass mold from him in 45 as well and it makes some nice bullets.

Tom makes really nice brass molds, I got a SWC 140 gr. from him that casts really nice boolits. I will end up getting a .45 mold from him sometime this year, but just haven't decided which style I want yet. I have an older Lyman for 200 gr. SWC BB that makes really nice boolits for the .45ACP, but will end up getting a RN or RNFP for as close to 230 gr. as soon as I figure out which one I want to cast. Enjoy that new mold.

You can't go wrong with Tom's molds!

Let us know how that 45 works out for you. I have the 452374 and i was looking for something close to that design also.

I bought this one (http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=45-230H-D.png) It shoots well in my XD.

grubbylabs, is that a TL boolit? The lube grooves look a bit shallow and narrow as well. I do like the nose design a lot, just not sure it would carry enough stick lube.
