I am looking for suggestions for a lightweight 45 acp bullet for plinking, etc. I have a Ballisti-cast 230 TC that feeds in everything I put it in. However, would like to go with something around 175 to 190 grains. Anyone have any experience with Accurate Mold's 45-175B, or any of Ballisticast's lightweight 45 bullets? I have molds from both makers and they are great molds. Leaning towards one from Accurate at this point.

I have the Saeco # 062 a 170 gr swc bb. shoots excellent even at 50 yards from most but not all of my 1911,s , feed reliably is the issue with some ! others eat them up ! I usually use the 170 gr bullet as thats 30 gr less for each bullet. I orgionaly bought this bullet for compensated guns when the 38 super began to be popular for action pistol . I also have the Saeco #068 a 200 gr swc that is a copy of the famous HG 68 that i use in the other guns .
I could send you some samples of the 062 if your intrested !

Don't overlook RCBS 45-185 SWC if you don't mind a BB boolit.

Don't mind a BB bullet. These are going to be wandering around at modest velocities. I have a couple of RCBS molds, and they are good molds. I am at a point where I would rather support the smaller shops. My experiences with Accurate would be hard to beat by one of the big outfits.

LYMAN 452389 button head 180.

Works great loaded head up in 1911's . Works even better loaded backwards flush with the case as a wadcutter for 45acp revolver loads.

Saeco 130....my favorite.

If you want to go with the H&G #130 style boolit (the same as the SAECO #130) than you can get it from Accurate as his 45-195H.

I also recommend 452389. At one time it was popular in national match shooting. It's very accurate in my S&W 22-4. The only issue would be obtaining a quality mould from Lyman.

Has anyone tried the collar button bullet in a 45 ACP?

Blammer. how in the world do you get those things to feed? I've had zero luck getting any full wadcutter to feed in any of my 45's.

I know it is possible though. A guy at the IDPA state match a couple years ago was shooting them in his 21. I can cycle them by hand in my 21 no problem, but actually feeding them while firing fails miserably.
